RESERVOIR INFORMATION BROWSER

RIB™ - Reservoir Information Browser is a knowledge management system, accessed on any computer using a standard web browser.

Until now managing and accessing data has been a problem for oil company personnel, typically spending more than 50% of their time looking for information. Core Laboratories can provide and/or convert this information into a standard web browser format (HTML @ JAVA) compatible with oil company web sites.

Much of the available data has never been fully utilized in the past due to its inaccessibility. The RIB™ system will make information far more accessible and hence greater value will be realized from it. This will inevitably result in more informed decision making and therefore improved reservoir management.

The RIB™ can be accessed across the oil company intranet and so information is accessible to all staff geoscientists (with the necessary access rights) within the organization regardless of physical location.

Core Laboratories can build RIB™ systems for any data sets, as required, including well completion reports, core analysis, wireline, biostratigraphy, seismic and reservoir fluids data. This system is designed to manage information from entire fields as well as individual projects.
