Surface Oil & Gas Sampling Hydrocarbon
sampling is provided by our PVT-trained sampling engineers. With
our extensive range of high-pressure cylinders, we can collect
samples from the wellhead, test separator and any other process
points. We also offer on-site sample validation and transfer of
open-hole tools such as MDT or RCI chambers.
Oil
& Gas Analysis
Core Lab chemists
routinely perform on-site oil and gas measurements during well
tests to determine fluid properties. The measurements include gas
composition testing for carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide and other
sulfur species, as well as mercury and radon. Hydrogen sulfide,
mercaptans and mercury contents are determined on site due to the
associated losses within sample cylinders.
Water
Analysis
Produced
water is collected and analyzed to determine the fluid composition
and likely origin. The Ca2+, Cl-, Mg2+, Ba2+, HCO3-, S2-, SO4-,
Fe, and other ion concentrations are determined as well as the pH,
resistivity and specific gravity of the fluid. Personnel can also
be supplied to plan, coordinate and collect samples during
chemical squeeze treatments.
Subsurface Sampling
Core Lab sampling specialists provide both Single Phase Bottom Hole and Positive Displacement Sampling Services with a maximum working pressure to 15,000 psi and maximum working temperature to 350 °F.
Single phase bottom hole samples are the best means of obtaining uncontaminated and representative Reservoir Fluids. This is particulary important with regard to flow assurance and Asphaltene deposition in particular.
Mobile PVT Laboratories
Core Lab's mobile laboratories are currently being used for wellsite restoration, sample validation and the evaluation of oil-based mud filtrate contamination. This is particularly important for proving, validating and transfering samples from open hole tools such MDT or RCI chambers. The mobile laboratories are also used where a quick analysis is essential to the client and in overseas and remote locations where it would prove difficult to export samples.
