WELLSITE SERVICES

Reservoir Rocks International

Core Lab has unique wellsite core characterization and core processing techniques to bring you early-time reservoir characterization data right from the rig.

Whether your core will be obtained in the Gulf of Mexico or anywhere else in the world, Core Lab will provide the data you need to make fast, reliable formation evaluation decisions which will help minimize risk in all your subsequent decisions.

Coring Services
Core Lab's specially trained core analysts perform various on-site core handling services. Their global experience in many different locations, climates and difficult operating conditions qualify these technicians to identify and solve problems which may have a direct or indirect impact on core quality. The services include core catching, plugging, core stabilization by resin injection, and preservation by wax encasement.

Equipment Hire
Core Lab supplies a wide variety of oilfield analysis equipment on a short- or long-term hire basis. The available items include gas chromatograph, Coulter Counter, Karl Fisher, Miran, Hach spectrophotometer and centrifuge equipment. On-site training and test procedures are also available upon request.

KwikGammasm
A unique, calibrated device for the acquisition of total and spectral core gamma data at the wellsite. This unit can help characterize lithology and correlate log depths.

KwikPorsm
Density porosity can be obtained in as little as 60 seconds / foot. The wellsite porosity unit can also be used to identify missing core and to assess core quality rapidly.

KwikPermsm
A portable "probe" Permeameter which allows for measurement in any remote location. The unit is totally self-contained in is ideal for thin bed permeability characterization.

Unconsolidated formations require special equipment and techniques for safe, reliable acquisition and transportation of undamaged core.

STABILIZATION

CoreStasm
This patent pending wellsite core stabilization technique provides for the removal of coring mud from the annulus and the "in-place" stabilization of 30’ sections of core. This technique provides "safe mode" core sectioning and can eliminate dry ice costs in many instances.

TRANSPORTATION

CoreSafesm
Your core is safe and secure once enclosed in our well-insulated core freezer box. This unit can be shipped anywhere and its small foot print leaves more room for core processing on rigs where space is at a premium.

PRESERVATION

CoreGluesm
Special "glue" is used to stabilize unconsolidated cores. Textural features can be seen and felt after proper application.

The CoreGluesm process is the best technique for long-term preservation of core slabs at ambient conditions.

Core Lab has extensive experience processing cores in very difficult and remote locations. In the Deepwater Gulf of Mexico, West Africa, Brazil or the Mediterranean Ocean, or in the jungles of Peru to offshore Brunei or China, we can provide an extensive and unique array of core processing and wellsite core characterization

Core Lab has the experience, technology, personnel and equipment to ensure your core is processed, stabilized, packaged, shipped and analyzed using the best practices the core industry has to offer.
