Stimulation by acidizing is used worldwide in all types of rocks. However, its applicability to a reservoir needs to be established prior to use. Improper use of acid can lead to increased formation damage and damage to downhole equipment. Stim-Lab offers a number flow studies and analytical techniques to establish compatibility of acid systems with a particular reservoir. In addition to these, acid fracture conductivity and closed fracture acidizing evaluations are available for carbonate reservoirs to determine if a particular rock can be acid etched and will retain conductivity after closure. A few of the studies offered are listed below. Within our capabilities, Stim-Lab will work with a client to design a test program to meet their needs. Contact us for more information.
• Acid response flow studies with permeability before and after acid application
• Two stage flow studies to evaluate the effect of a matrix acid treatment near wellbore and in the deep reservoir.
• True radial flow studies in pressurized model.
• Total acid solubility with or without ion analysis
• Partial acid spending studies with ion analysis
• Long core flow studies with core lengths to 30 inches and multiple pressure taps.
• Multi-core flow studies with parallel core to evaluate diversion techniques
• Optimizing acid injection rates in carbonate reservoirs
