The Proppant Fracture Conductivity Evaluation System is designed to determine the
fracture conductivity or permeability of a proppant pack under downhole conditions
in the laboratory. Tests are conducted at a closure stress to 20,000 psi and a temperature
to 350oF along with brine and/or gas flow as required. It can determine the long-term
conductivity as a function of the proppant, fracturing fluid system and the produced
hydrocarbon type/rate. The system has an option for a system to determine the beta
turbulence factor used for predicting gas flow rate, the impact of stress cycling,
the amount of embedment in field cores from a variety of proppants, and the effectiveness
of proppant flow back systems. The system is easy to run and very reliable.
