Performed on the slabbed core at a scale of 1:20, 1:40 or 1:50, as required, these studies provide a detailed description of lithology, sedimentary structures, grain size variation, mineralogy and macroscopic diagenetic features. The data are summarized onto a composite 1:200 scale log integrating the core description with both wireline logs and core analysis data.
