Both natural and induced fractures are identified and characterized. In this example we are looking at hydraulically induced fractures. The fracture picks are confirmed after examining the core or by using high definition core photographs, and/or using conventional core description.
The fracture type symbols in the third track mark the top and bottom of each fracture. The fractures are also plotted on a tadpole plot and a stereo plot. The tadpole heads mark the dip angle and the tails mark the azimuth. On the last track the Fracture Dip Stereonet Wulff Plots are displayed with pole plots in a northern or southern hemisphere, along with depth range and averages dip directions, which are plotted for each segment/interval.
