Mechanics of Fractures - Pressure Solution Evaluation

Paths of stress, temperature, and chemical potential are known to strongly influence the evolution of the transport properties of rocks. This is especially true where the materials are fractured, and permeability is strongly coupled to relatively small changes in fracture apertures, that may in turn be driven by changes in stress or chemical potential.

Long Term Flow Through Tests

Long term flow through tests provide measurements of:

  • Fracture Permeability
  • Hydraulic Aperture
  • Mass Removal
  • Effluent Mass Concentration
