Flow Through Core Cleaner

The Flow Through Core Cleaner (Manual) offers an economical batch flow through cleaning utilizing standard Hassler core holders a cost efficient HPLC pumping system. Allows the operator to use sequential combinations of solvents to efficiently clean asphaltinic and waxy crude oils whilst minimizing damage to clay structures. The system is compatible with a wide range of solvents including, but not limited to, methanol, toluene, chloroform, acetone and isopropyl alcohol.

Flow through cleaning involves the sequential flow of solvents through the core sample to remove resident hydrocarbons and aqueous fluids. Two variations of flow through cleaning are commonly used one utilizing miscible solvents and the other immiscible solvents. Both methods involve the chromatographic passage of solvents or solvent mixtures through the sample. Unconsolidated or friable samples should be mounted in heat shrinkable Teflon, or similar solvent resistant elastomer, before loading into the core holder.
